1. Ethical Jewelry from Brilliant Earth

If you're hunting for a holiday gift that's both meaningful and beautiful, let me tell you about Brilliant Earth. Founded in 2005 by Beth Gerstein and Eric Grossberg, they're not just any jewelry brand. They've revolutionized the diamond industry with Beyond Conflict Free™ diamonds, focusing on ethical and responsible origins.
Imagine gifting a stunning engagement ring that tells a story of care and responsibility. Brilliant Earth gets what buyers want. They focus on comfort, elegance, and personalization.
Whether you prefer a classic diamond or a modern lab-grown one, you can tailor it to your taste in style, metal, and shape on their website. It's like creating a little piece of art for someone special.
Now, the materials they use are a mix of natural diamonds, recycled gold, and even lab-grown diamonds. They've also got moissanite and gemstone rings. So, whether your giftee is an eco-warrior or loves a bit of sparkle, there's something for them.
And it's not just about the bling. The way Brilliant Earth sources its materials is impressive. Their recycled metals? They're from their products, and the new metal comes from places that care about the environment and their workers. We're talking 98% recycled gold and almost pure recycled silver.
The diamonds? They're sourced with respect for human rights and the environment, mainly from Canada and Botswana. Plus, their lab-grown diamonds are an energy-efficient marvel.
But here's the part that warms my heart. Brilliant Earth isn't just selling jewelry; they're making a difference. They help miners in Madre de Dios with mercury-free mining techniques, support various causes like the fight against deforestation with the Rainforest Alliance, and even educate students in diamond mining areas.
Did I mention they're carbon-neutral and use FSC-certified wood for their ring boxes?
2. tentree's Gorgeous Sustainable Fashion

We are always looking for eco-friendly holiday gifts that are sure to bring a smile to your loved ones' faces, and giving the gift of sustainable fashion is one way to do that. tentree carries all your ethical wardrobe basics. From tee and tops to sweaters and cardigans, tentree does not disappoint.
We've featured them many times here on The Eco Hub: pajamas, backpacks, tees, and more.
This year, I am simply loving ALL of their collections. The Outerwear collection has all your cold weather basics covered, including Unisex Puffer coats and shells, recycled materials, and coated with a DWR finish to keep you warm, dry, and outside.
The Ecoloft Collection takes a refined and classic take on staples like hoodies and vests. Made of recycled fibers and/or materials such as plastic bottles/waste, textile waste, recycled clothing, fishing nets, etc. these pieces are the perfect way to introduce sustainable basics into your wardrobe.
The Highline Collection includes gorgeous, warm turtlenecks and v-necks. These come in over six colors, and we want them all! They are made with a combination of organic cotton and responsibly sourced wool.
The apparel industry creates a lot of trash—10.5 million tonnes per year, to be exact. tentree is helping divert some of it from landfills while conserving water and essential resources. Planting ten trees for every item purchased proves that sustainability can and should be as easy as putting on a t-shirt.
3. Planted's Cozy Candles

Made with completely natural ingredients and cruelty-free, Planted hand-poured candles make such a lovely gift for the self-care girlies in your life or anyone on your list who enjoys the warmth and serenity of beautifully scented candles.
For wax, Planted uses coconut and soy waxes. For fragrance, they use only pure essential oils and natural aromatic essences like vanilla and coconut. There are no phthalates, GMOs, artificial compounds, or fragrances here.
Scent options include Jasmine, Rose, Bergamot, Smoky Cedar, and more! Where indoor air quality is concerned, there is no need to worry about increasing CO2 levels in the home.
Their 9oz candles last at least 50 hours. We’ve tried the Energizing Eucalyptus and love everything about this candle. The scent softly fills the room and brings me so much joy. There is so much to love here.
To take accountability for the full lifecycle of its products, Planted hosts a take-back program called Project Re-cycle, where customers are invited to return used containers so they can be reused or recycled. We love this. Plus, with every purchase, a tree is planted on your behalf.
Planted also offers a custom refill program for any especially loved vessels you want to keep in rotation. But if that’s not an option – no worries. Planted vessels can be repurposed at home as tumblers, to store pens and knickknacks, or whatever your creative heart can think of. Just look out for any nicks over time.
If you know any jetsetters who might enjoy tranquility on the go, consider the nifty travel candles. Available in packs of 3, choose from Lavender, Rose, Eucalyptus, or a variety pack.
4. Dooeys' House Loafers

I recently had the pleasure of trying out Dooeys' Black House Loafers, and I must say, they're more than just house slippers. As someone who spends a lot of time on hardwood and tile floors, I was immediately impressed by their comfort and support.
These loafers are a perfect blend of style and practicality, making them an ideal choice for anyone who values both in their home footwear.
The beauty of these loafers lies in their versatility. I found them to be the perfect accessory for hosting. Whether I was having a casual get-together with friends or a more formal family gathering, these loafers effortlessly completed my hostess outfit.
Their sleek design allowed me to dress them up or down, adapting seamlessly to the tone of the occasion.
From a sustainable perspective, Dooeys stands out. Knowing that these stylish loafers are made from plant-based and recycled materials added a layer of satisfaction to my experience. Plus, the brand's commitment to offsetting carbon emissions with every order shipped is a commendable effort towards environmental responsibility.
Overall, my experience with Dooeys' Black House Loafers has been excellent. They are a great addition to my home wardrobe and represent a thoughtful and environmentally conscious gift for anyone who loves combining comfort with style in their daily life at home.
5. Baabuk's Cozy Slippers

Baabuk’s beautifully handcrafted felted wool slippers made us smile as soon as we opened the box. We tried the Mel slip-in slippers in pink and immediately noticed how well-made they were.
Once we slipped them on, it was clear we wouldn’t want to live without them. Made using mulesing-free wool from New Zealand, you can tell Baabuk designs its products to last.
There are lots of lovely color options to suit your loved ones. Sizes range from 5 - 11.5/12 for US women and 7 - 14 for US men. Going with our usual size was a little snug with the inner soles (more on that shortly) – so consider going up a size if you prefer to wear them with the inner soles.
The Mel also includes a removable padded inner sole made from wool and cotton blend for added comfort and durability. Natural crepe rubber is the perfect touch for the soles to ensure stability, versatility, and durability.
Though we loved the Mel, there are several other styles to choose from, including the Kanga (a low-cut slipper), the Yves (a high-top slipper), and the Pomobuk (made from upcycled offcuts).
An excellent option for quality slippers that will make life a little cozier – Baabuk also offers adorable high-top slippers for kids and sneakers, ballerinas, slip-ons, and hiking boots for adults.
6. Terrera Luxurious Bath Towels

I did not expect to be this impressed with a bath towel! I was looking for sustainable and non-toxic towel options when I came across Terrera and took a chance.
The order arrived in a timely fashion and was very well packaged. The quality of the towels is terrific! I never felt anything this soft before, and the absorption is superior to any other bath towels I’ve used!
If sensitive skin is a concern, you may have found your answer in Terrera, where all home and bedding fabrics are certified organic. I love Herrera’s luxurious bamboo products, including their bamboo bedding, and want to share their 3-piece towel set this holiday season.
Made from a cotton and bamboo viscose blend, these towels are highly absorbent, breathable, and soft textured. The set is complete with a bath towel, a hand towel, and a facecloth and is available in 3 timeless colors, including Desert Sage, Grey, and White -- priced at CAD 68. Don’t worry.
They ship to both the US and Canada. You can also opt for individual bath towels priced at CAD 40, conveniently wrapped in a ribbon, too – perfect for gifting.
Only non-toxic, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 dyes are used where dyes are concerned, which is no surprise here.
Terrera’s primary objective has always been to offer environmentally conscious products.
In addition to avoiding toxic chemicals in their dyeing process, a closed-loop system reduces the environmental impact typically associated with conventional dyeing processes.
Not all bamboo products are equal either, and Terrera sets itself apart by using certified OCIA bamboo, farmed with no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.
Plus, products are slowly shipped by sea from their manufacturers in China, which are audited for the welfare of their workers.
7. Let's Cuddle Weighted Blanket

Let's Cuddle believes that "How you rest is how you live," their weighted blankets make the perfect addition for a better, more restful night's sleep or just snuggling on the couch with some hot cocoa.
Designed to help relieve stress, relax muscles, and distribute weight evenly across the body, these weighted blankets are machine washable, with four color options (including snow, fog, ash, and sand) and three weight options: 10 lbs, 15 lbs, or 20 lbs.
We tried the 15 lbs Cuddler, made of cotton and 100% recycled bottles. Snuggling under was super soft and felt terrific, especially as the cold weather settled in.
The hand-knit design is also aesthetic and feels great to the touch, but its primary function is to create airflow to avoid overheating and stuffiness. Complete with a storage/carrier bag, The Cuddler will become a mainstay in our home.
In manufacturing, the brand asserts that its farmers, garment workers, recyclers, and everyone in its supply chain are held responsible for carbon emissions and water usage.
Let's Cuddle also maintains a strict list of restricted substances to minimize exposure to toxins, carcinogens, or endocrine disruptors that can be used in some conventional products.
With a focus on quality and timeless design, these weighted blankets are built to last and will hopefully reduce the need for replacements and waste over time.
For the restless sleeper, the overachiever who needs as much relaxation as possible, or just someone who needs extra warmth, relaxation, and snuggles this holiday (or you 😉), Let's Cuddle has just the thing.
8. Rawganique Robe

100% Organic Hemp Knit Bathrobe anyone?! That’s just one of the lovely bathrobes we think would make a wonderful gift over at Rawganique this season.
Find an Organic Cotton Waffle Honeycomb Spa Bathrobe, a Hemp Terry Bathrobe, or an Organic Irish Linen Terry Bathrobe — the coziest of which looks to be the latter two. Depending on the style sizes include Unisize, XS, or XL.
All of their products are sweatshop-free, chemical-free, and specially designed with those who have sensitivities in mind.
The Organic Linen Terry Bathrobe is certified organic and made in Europe from a mixture of organic linen and organic cotton, akin to the best sauna friction towels in Scandinavia.
Rawganique also offers lots of other wonderful products like vegan shoes, non-toxic rugs, pyjamas and lots more that would make wonderful gifts for the holiday too so be sure to have a look around if the robe is not the right fit. They also make a great option if you are looking to shop with slow fashion brands.
Rawganique is all about ethical manufacturing and really prides itself on knowing where everything they use comes from. All of their products are made and sourced from the USA, Canada, or Europe, and everything ships from warehouses in the USA and Canada.
9. Scoria Yoga Mat

Scoria’s Yoga Mats make for a mindful gift for the holidays, with beautiful designs that help to get to physical activity a little more delightful. Their cork yoga mats are made from a naturally anti-microbial cork surface that helps eliminate any odors and is sustainably harvested.
Unlike other yoga mats, the cork surface is backed by natural tree rubber rather than TPE or PVC. Scoria offers a 1-year limited warranty with their products. Consider pairing a mat with their mat carry strap for easy transport and/or storage.
You will also find other products like crescent cushions to support meditation practice and yoga props like blocks and rollers to bolster yoga practice, massage and recovery, etc.
To give back, Scoria allocates a portion of every purchase to empowering indigenous youth through play-based education in partnership with Right To Play.
10. Sustainable Makeup with Zakiella

Looking for clean, beautifully pigmented lipsticks, lip glosses, and eyeshadows?! Then look no further than Zakiella! We absolutely loved their satin lipsticks and how beautifully they glide on.
The colors are vibrant, and the lipstick just feels fantastic. Best of all, the ingredients aren’t complicated to understand, but the formulas work wonderfully. No talc, PFAS, or silicones here.
As for lip glosses, I look forward to bright and super fun options! One of our editors doesn’t typically wear lip gloss but noted wanting to wear Zakiella’s lip gloss any chance she gets. Needless to say – she can’t get enough.
We also love their eyeshadows, especially for sensitive skin. They are gentle on the skin and available in a wide range of colors, including metallic and matt options that look great, even on darker skin tones.
Here, you can build a custom palette using Zakiella’s magnetic eyeshadow palettes or choose from their curated options with essential combinations like the Sand Dunes palette, the Serenity palette, and more. Each palette holds up to 6 colors and comes complete with a mirror.
The brand is committed to Reimagining Clean Beauty™ with its minimal ingredients and effective product line. Their commitment to cruelty-free products and a clear stance against child mica make Zakiella a top contender on our list for eco-friendly makeup this holiday and every day.
Eco-Friendly Gifts for Him

12. Coyuchi's Ethical PJs

Now that your man has a divine pair of slippers, he needs ethical pajamas too! Perfect for you to cuddle up to, Coyuchi's flannel pj's are sooooo dreamy. I mean there is something really sexy about a man in flannel, am I right?
Coyuchi is all about sustainable home goods and these PJs are no exception. They are made with organic, GOTS-certified cotton. This brand is all about people and the planet, saying:
"For more than 29 years, we’ve focused on natural, organic, low-impact textiles, because they’re healthier for the environment and for the people who make and use them. Much of our cotton is Fair Trade Certified™".
Careful. This might happen to your man:
- Wears pajamas all day.
- Showers at 10 pm.
- Changes into new pajamas.
13. Buck Naked's Men's Grooming Essentials

You know I am going to have to go there, right!? The name is just too good....so let's get naked with Buck Naked's men's grooming kit!
I love this local Canadian brand so much; their shampoo bars are the bomb and for your dude. You've got two skincare bundle options: The Beard Kit and The Shave Stuff.

14. 2°EAST Watches

What makes you tick when it comes to gift-giving? Is it a brand's ethics? Their sustainability track record? Design? If it's all of the above, then 2°EAST's timeless classics are the perfect choice for the special man in your life.
"Meet the watch for humans who believe it’s cool to be kind" — now that's a mission statement! This watch company has some real eco-cred. Strap yourself in and check out these features:
The face of the watch is protected by a sapphire crystal which, unlike mineral crystal, is made to last. It's indestructible and you do not need to worry about scratches, etc. You have the choice of gold or silver.
The watch movement is a Miyota quartz, chosen because of its strong environmental policy.
What really impresses me is the zero-waste ION plating. Here's how they explain it: "our conflict-free rose gold is applied using a zero-waste dry plating process that eliminates air emissions, wastewater, and hazardous wastes associated with traditional plating techniques."
They use 100% post-consumer recycled PET (RePET) for their NATO straps, giving a second life to a material that’s not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfills or oceans. The leather is vegetable-tanned, which is a much more eco-friendly and non-toxic option compared to conventional leather.
A watch is something that's so personal and by making its straps interchangeable, 2°EAST has done what other companies have not, giving you the option to choose what your watch will look like. It's brilliant. Choose from leather, mesh, and NATO straps.
If you want to have the best time ever with your man, I'd consider one of these luxury (but affordable) timepieces that are ahead of the curve with their various ethical practices on land and sea.
For every watch or strap sold, they plant a tree in partnership with Trees For The Future. Plus, your watch will arrive at your door in plastic-free packaging.
15. Nisolo Men's Bag

A bag for every occasion! That's what Nisolo is all about. As one of my favorite ethical brands, they carry a range of men's and women's clothing, bags, and accessories. I love the Luis Weekender (pictured above). A good men's duffle bag needs to do one thing really well: carry lots of stuff.... and this bag does just that.
It's made from cotton canvas, has a shoulder strap that can be removed and it's super lightweight. I love that this bag is neutral enough to work for any occasion but also has a lot to offer in design and detail.
Nisolo is a Certified B Corporation. They ensure a living wage to 100 percent of the artisans who create their beautiful products. They also offset 100 percent of their carbon emissions and are verified by Climate Neutral Certification.
16. 8000Kicks Hemp Shoes

8000Kicks offers 100% hemp shoes and accessories, perfect for the vegans on our list. Founders Bernardo and his grandmother, Otilia, are from Portugal and set out to disrupt the shoe industry by creating a 100% hemp sneaker that is water-repellent, dust-repellent, and lightweight. And they did just that.
The soles are plant-based as well and made from algae bloom. It all comes together to create a comfortable, durable sneaker, for anyone looking for a good versatile, everyday shoe — but also for an eco-friendly alternative to plastic or leather products.
The shoes are versatile enough to fit any occasion (though we will leave that to your discretion), and they work well both indoors and out. If you or your loved ones are looking to create a minimalist wardrobe, this is definitely an option to consider.
You will also find their nice waterproof hemp backpacks. Made from 100% hemp, these bags are durable and designed to offer a balance between protection, functionality, style, and design. They are also expandable, fit a 15-inch laptop, and feature an ergonomic back panel, reinforced straps, a chest belt and offer the ability to fit a USB plug.

Eco Friendly Gifts for The Host

17. Siblings DIY Candles

Featured in our sustainable candles round-up, we love Siblings for the do-it-yourselfers on our list. We think it’s so fun to make our candles at home, and Siblings make that process very easy and well worth the effort. From the start, their lovely fragrances will likely hypnotize your loved ones and make the setting time only mildly agonizing.
It’s super simple. Pop the wax pouch in the microwave (making sure to remove the wick and wick holder), then pour into a chosen vessel with the wick affixed to the bottom of the vessel as directed, and leave to set. And, voilà! A freshly hand-made candle right at home!
In terms of ingredients, rather than using paraffin and synthetic fragrances, Siblings uses non-toxic oils, essential oils, and a coconut blend wax – no parabens, phthalates, or sulfates.
The Starter Set includes everything needed to make a candle right at home – with a lead-free wick, a wooden wick holder, wax, and a vessel. Their vessels are designed to be reused, but the brand also encourages using vessels from home, and we love that.
There are many delightful scents, including best-sellers like the Bergamot White Rose, which is more floral but wonderfully intoxicating – or more seasonal options like the Spiced Maple Cookie.
Founded by two siblings, Eva and David, Siblings is committed to offering better, more sustainable products. To lighten its carbon footprint, the brand uses plant-based compostable packaging that can be composted at home or an industrial facility. 'Shipping materials are plastic-free and can be recycled along with other paper products.
To account for its carbon footprint, Siblings is also carbon neutral and offsets its emissions in partnership with Pachama, which focuses on conservation and forest restoration projects.

What makes a gift sustainable or eco-friendly?
As with all things here on The Eco Hub, we try to stick to certain criteria, and we want to share brands that live up to that eco cred.
So, we've rounded up our favorite brands for this ethical gift guide, all of which we'd certainly add to our holiday wish list. We look for a number of things when choosing eco-friendly gifts, like:
- How and where is the item made?
- Does the company adhere to certain standards in the manufacturing process?
- Are there any certifications such as Fair Trade or B Corp in place?
