Small things come in good packages and that is certainly the case for these eco friendly stocking stuffers! They may be small, but they are downright mighty and they don't cost a whole lot of money.
Traditionally, stocking stuffers create a lot of waste. They tend to be made from plastic and are kind of gimmicky, with most of them heading right to landfills after the holidays are over. If you are trying to have a sustainable holiday, this post is for you.
Here at The Eco Hub, we are committed to finding the very best sustainable brands. We independently review everything we recommend. When you buy through our affiliate links, we may earn a small commission. Learn more here.

1. BareBearBerry’s SMILE Anti-aging and Volume Boosting Serum
BareBearBerry’s SMILE Anti-aging and Volume Boosting Serum makes for a really lovely stocking stuffer. Featuring ingredients like jojoba oil, meadowfoam seed oil, and Ylang Ylang flower it is designed to improve facial appearance and provides a curvy silhouette using only clean ingredients.
This serum also helps to reduce expression wrinkles thanks to a Botox-like mechanism. It tightens skin instantly, and firms in the long term, all while moisturizing and offering effective UV protection which is an important part of everyone's beauty routine. For dry, irritated, and delicate skin, this product features calendula extract, and even works to enhance the relaxation and balance of emotions thanks to Ylang Ylang.
BareBareBerry focuses on designing skincare products especially for 30+ high-achieving women, all of which are formulated to offer an effective solution to early aging caused by the stressful lives we lead – be it as heads of households, crushing it at work (in the office or on the field), and the many other things life sends our way.
All of their products are made in Canada without parabens, PEGs, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colorants, mineral oils, petrolatum, or dimethicone. Instead, many of the ingredients used are certified by ECOCERT Greenlife based on the COSMOS Standard, including plant oils and botanical extracts.
For packaging, 100% recycled paper packaging. Their parent company is also a monthly donor to the David Suzuki Foundation.
2. Upfront Cosmetics
We all need a little pampering over the holidays and now it's easier than ever thanks to one of my favorite natural hair care companies, Upfront Cosmetics. Curly, straight, blonde, brown, black, or colored, you are bound to find a shampoo and conditioner bar for your lovely tresses.
Their hair masques (like the one pictured above) are DEE-VINE, making for a perfect non-toxic and eco-friendly stocking stuffer. They have different variations available, depending on what your hair needs the most: detangling, split-end prevention, moisturization, volume, detox, and more. The Babassu + Argan is my top pick — it's got a citrus scent that comes from lemongrass.
The craft paper bags that the masques come in are lined with a biomaterial made from renewable resources such as corn and sugar. They are compostable in industrial composting facilities.
Upfront is all about ethics, which is evident in the fact that they are vegan, free of nasty chemicals and all-natural.
By the way, Upfront Cosmetics just became available at Whole Foods, making the quest to find zero waste gifts even easier!
3. Elate Cosmetics
Want to help your loved one transition their beauty bag to have more clean makeup products? Um, yes! Well, Elate Cosmetics offers so many environmentally friendly stocking fillers for you to choose from. My top pick is the Brow Balm—this stuff is magic! A good brow is essential, and this one is the "world's first sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free brow product."
Not only does it give the best results, but it also nourishes the brows with a tinted pomade. Elate checks all the boxes for ethics AND sustainable packaging, making beauty products more accessible to everyone. If you want to add a little extra something to this stocking, a zero-waste lip balm makes for the perfect pucker!
4. Obakki Japanese Incense
We LOVE Obakki here on the hub and they have a beautiful selection of some of the best eco friendly stocking stuffers, including this gorgeous assortment of premium handmade Japanese incense in three extraordinary woody scents with three distinct tones. Called the Waboku Incense Set, these scents originate from three different Japanese trees. The Hinoki (cypress) is a calm and soothing aroma, the Keyaki (delvoka) is a sweet and exotic scent, uplifting -- and the Kusonoki (camphor tree) is uplifting and powerful. Japanese incense is revered around the world for its aromatic and wellness properties.
Obakki works with artisans all over the globe, helping to provide training in income-generating skills. On their website, you will find each story, in this case, we learn about Kousaido, who has emerged as a premium incense maker in Kyoto, Japan — a city famed for its rich history and peaceful temple gardens. A wide base of scents is then expertly blended to produce the final, definitive aroma. Each has a distinctive purpose - to relax, to inspire, to uplift.
Kousaido bases its scents on Japanese trees — so that you may experience the joy and peace of sitting in a Japanese forest. More than two-thirds of Japanese territory is forestland and the connection with the forest is strong. Today, incense is a staple in the modern home as a de-stressor and a tool to help us unwind.
5. Barefoot Daughter's Shampoo and Body Bars
I simply love Barefoot Daughter's Shampoo and Body bars. Not only are they made with good intentions, but they are also scented with irresistible, organic herbs and essential oils. They are also vegan and are free of perfumes, preservatives, palm oil, and sulfates.
The Spirulina and Mint Shampoo & Body Bar is a solid choice for anyone wanting to cut back on plastic waste AND get all the benefits of detoxing the scalp at the same time. Their natural formula includes olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, and castor oil to deeply nourish hair and skin.
High in minerals and antioxidants, spirulina will give your skin just what it needs by helping to remove toxins and candida overgrowth. The scents of peppermint and eucalyptus will give you a much-needed pep first thing in the morning.
The Chai Latte Shampoo & Body Bar can be summed up in two words: sumptuous and wonderful. It's steeped with organic cinnamon powder, clove powder, ginger root powder, cardamom seed powder, and rainwater.
In addition to their powerhouse collection of Shampoo and Body Bars, Barefoot Daughter also makes a natural deodorant that is infused with sage and lavender which helps kill bacteria that causes the smell. This holiday season, enjoy Barefoot Daughter's botanical body care with a herbalist touch.

7. Pela Biodegradable Phone Case
We all want to protect our phones while at the same time being as stylish as ever! An eco-friendly phone case is the most essential phone accessory we can have. Most cases are made with cheap plastic that will most likely end up in a landfill. To combat this growing problem, Pela case came up with a super innovative, compostable phone case that not only protects your phone but is a sustainable fashion statement. And no matter what styles or colors you like, they have something for everyone on your list: solid colors, ones for yogis, cooks, and more! It's so hard to pick just one!

8. Non-Toxic Perfume
Conventional perfume is packed full of chemicals that would make even a mad scientist go wild. Why not give the gift of scents filled with love and botanical ingredients instead? Non-toxic perfumes are easier than ever to find and offer a wide range of timeless, signature scents.
Cocoon Apothecary's Persephone 100% Botanical Eau de Perfume is the perfect eco-friendly Christmas gift for someone looking for a scent soulmate. They have "captured the scent of blossoms, green leaves, and the air after a rainfall." I mean, it does not get any better than this!
Cocoon is featured on The Eco Hub in our green beauty brands that are killing it, as well as our top picks for body wash.
9. Eco-Friendly Scrunchies
Geez, this is a total throwback to my teens. If you grew up in the 80s, you know what I am talking about. I had one to match every single outfit! Encircled, which makes some of the best minimalist clothing on the market, is creating hair accessories made from upcycled textile waste, which is part of their Renew Collection. They come in seven vibrant colors and are made from soft, luxurious French Terry made from an eco-friendly blend of TENCEL™ Lyocell and organic cotton.

I love the idea of customizing a gift for a loved one — it feels so personal, don't you think? 11. The Future Is Bamboo Toothbrushes
A delightful and sustainable addition to your bathroom sink, this zero waste toothbrush from The Future Is Bamboo makes the perfect gift for the man (or anyone) in your life. It's an easy zero waste bathroom swap, especially when you consider that about one billion plastic toothbrushes are discarded yearly in the U.S. alone and most of them are headed right to landfills.
Bamboo has become a fast-growing alternative to plastic in oral care. Bamboo is known to be more eco-friendly thanks to these factors: grown with zero herbicides and pesticides; absorbs more CO2; and once harvested, almost every part of the plant is used, making it a great low waste alternative.
The Future of Bamboo is taking a huge bite out of plastic with its sustainable brushes that include soft bristles, a sturdy handle/grip, and lots of fun colors. You can choose between single brushes and bundles (which is more economical) and you also have the choice of regular bristles or charcoal ones.
Made from Moso bamboo, they are BPA-free, biodegradable, certified P.E.T.A. vegan and cruelty-free, and certified FSC (Responsible Forest Management)! And with a motto like "Make eco-friendly products accessible and affordable to everyone," they are my new go-to.
12. Conscious Step Socks
My hubby has so many pairs of cute socks; I think it's one way a guy can have a little fun in the fashion department! A cute pair of socks makes a great sustainable stocking stuffer and there are a few feet-focused brands to choose from.
Don't leave your man out in the cold. Instead, take a look at these adorable socks from Conscious Step. They are perfect for sock lovers who want cool styles and overall comfort. And you can feel good knowing these socks are doing good for the planet with every step they take. These eco-friendly socks are fair trade and made from organic cotton! Each one has a cute little message on it and is tied to a charity too. I also love that they are a member of 1% For the Planet.
13. Upcycled Coasters
I love gifts that are functional, trendy, unique, and upcycled. Etsy maker Recycled LP Records makes these "not-quite-perfect" coasters that will add a little charm to any dude's pad! They are handmade using old L.P.s and are sure to be a fabulous conversation starter. Priced at only $9.50 for four coasters, they are an affordable and fun gift idea.
14. Safety Razor
Like most skincare products, the one major issues we are always left with is plastic packaging. Even our shaving routines could use a complete overhaul. I consider plastic razors single-use. Yes, you are using them more than once, but each razor has a really short lifespan and it's not recyclable at the end of its life. A good safety razor is essential in any zero waste bathroom and in your man's shaving kit. Whether your man is fully bearded or has light stubble, a good razor with give the best at-home shave.
Plantish Future's Double Edge Safety Razors come with 5 FREE razor blades and will arrive at your doorstep in a recycled cardboard box. Plantish Future describes itself as "Plantish is founded on zero waste, plastic-free & vegan principles. We desire to create a community while sharing inter-generational wisdom and a passion for plant-based products."
15. Eco Friendly Wallet
There are SO many wallets to choose from at Matt and Nat. They've got vegan leather wallets for men and women in an abundance of bright colors. There are three styles to choose from: zippered, bifold, and ultra-slim cardholders. Matt(erials) and Nat(ure) use a few types of materials in their bags, wallets, and backpacks, including cork, rubber, and polyurethane (PU). They do use PVC as well, which is not great! Opt for the other materials instead.
16. Wood Grilling Gift Sets
Wood'nt you love to give your man a gift that keeps on giving? These handmade wooden filling packs are the perfect sustainable gift idea for the man who loves to grill. Your man will love this humble piece of wood that will add aroma and smoky flavor to veggies, meat, fish, or basically any food to which you want to add a little more pep! Based in the U.S., Wildwood Grilling offers a range of planks that are high-quality and contain zero toxic chemicals.
For the griller with a conscience, I am happy to report that the wood is sustainably sourced locally. Not only that, but instead of cutting down new trees, Wildwood actually recycles "second-grade pieces from local suppliers that purchase lumber from sustainable sources." Choose from a selection of sizes to help your man add a little flavor to your food. I think I might even take these camping with me!
17. Everist Waterless Body Wash Concentrate
Everist is changing the game with this waterless body wash. Did you know most body care products are made from more than 70% water? With Everist, you are getting a 3x concentrated paste that is activated by water when you shower. It can be used on the skin or hair and you need very little. It's made with the cleanest beauty ingredients like aloe and comes in an aluminum tube. When you are done with the tube "unroll flat and place it in the recycling bin. You can rinse the cap and send it back to the company, as part of their Cap Back Program."
All of Everest's shipping materials are 100 percent recycled and completely recyclable, too.

22. Bamboo Pot Scraper
This is the best kitchen tool I have ever used! It saves water, dish soap, and time (the best gift anyone could ask for!). This tiny but mighty bamboo pot scraper is handmade and free from harmful glues and lacquers. It's honestly one of the best zero waste stocking stuffers you can give. It's got rounded edges which make it easy to get into hard-to-reach corners. It's durable and will never scratch your eco-friendly cookware.
I've been using this in my home for close to ten years. You can use it on burnt pans and cookie sheets, and it can even remove wax and stickers from any surface. If you cook and have a pile of dishes that you'd typically need to soak before washing, this little tool will eliminate that in one shot. Add a squirt of dish soap, and a little bit of water, and then scrape off all the foods. ITS MAGIC! Handmade MrArtWood is a small Etsy shop that uses sustainable materials ad practices to make all its items.
23. Stasher Snack Bag
These silicone snack bags are perfect to stash snacks, makeup, toiletries, school supplies, or anything else really! These can go in the dishwasher, microwave, and even the freezer, making them a really great alternative to plastic storage containers. Simply press and seal to close! I am OBSESSED with these, they are so easy to wash and fantastic to travel with as well.
These are much better than plastic baggies because you can use them over and over and over again. "Endlessly reusable and radically functional," they make great environmentally-friendly stocking fillers. Oh, and they come in a ton of sizes and colors too. A portion of every Stasher sold goes straight to nonprofits like Surfrider and 5 Gyers.
24. Wool Dryer Balls
These wool balls are essential for any laundry room, and when paired with zero-waste laundry detergent, they are a match made in heaven. Most conventional single-use dryer sheets are made from a type of plastic, which means they can't be recycled or reused. They are also filled with toxic chemicals that can be harmful to humans and the planet.
Wool dryer balls, on the other hand, can be used over and over again. They help to reduce drying time by 15 to 29 percent, absorbing some of the moisture in the dryer and keeping clothes separated. If you are worried about static, you can either remove the clothes when they are almost dry, or you can add a safety pin to each ball.
These dryer balls are made from 100% organic and cruelty-free certified New Zealand Wool and therefore are also completely biodegradable. They're handmade in Nepal by women with disabilities who are paid a fair wage and operate in safe, equitable working conditions. There are no chemicals or additives used in the dryer balls, so it's an ideal product for those with sensitive skin and babies.
25. Silicone Food Covers
Store leftovers, cover fruits and veggies, and make sure your food lasts longer with these practical plastic-free food covers. I have quite a few of these in my home and I love them. Whether your loved one bakes, cooks or loves takeout these silicone lids make the perfect addition to any green kitchen for years to come.
These silicone food covers are stretchy, BPA-Free, and made from food-grade silicone. The set includes five lids of different sizes that will fit jars, cups, and bowls. They are really convenient if you have left-over food in a bowl simply cover it instead of transferring it to another container! These also have a nifty tab on either side to make them easier to pull on or off.
I also use them to keep my fruit fresh-looking at you avocado! You can use them in the freezer and microwave and they are even dishwashers.
A final word on eco friendly stocking stuffers
An eco friendly stocking stuffer, in my humble opinion, needs to be practical, fun, and built to last. So many of the traditional stocking fillers are made from plastic and are cheap for a reason! It's easy to lose track of the fun of giving and getting a gift over the holidays and turn into an eco-grinch. But with these ideas, there is simply no need for that.
Remember you can always shop second-hand and I am a fan of REGIFTING too! If you are still trying to find something special take a look at our zero waste gift guide, eco-friendly gift guide, our kid's gift guide, our ethical gift guide, and the best gifts for minimalists.
